About Us

About Riverside

The Riverside Day Nursery is an Ofsted registered day nursery providing high quality childcare within the bright, modern surroundings of Windsor Leisure Centre.

Our nursery setting has been thoughtfully designed and furnished with young children’s needs in mind, including a warm, welcoming separate space for babies and children up to two and a spacious, beautifully equipped main room for children of all ages to play and make friends. We also have a large secure outside space and natural garden for children to climb, play and explore.

Beautiful Riverside Location

Our stunning riverside setting means the children can see and experience a rich variety of wildlife. As well as duck feeding adventures, trips to local Windsor parks and Windsor Castle are regular activities the children love.

Our nursery moved to Windsor Leisure Centre in early 2015 having spent over a decade delivering exemplary childcare for babies and young children at our premises in Helston Lane, Windsor.

The Riverside Day Nursery is owned and run by Emma Summersgill, who has over 20 years’ experience in early years care alongside raising two strapping boys.

Emma is passionate about creating a safe and stimulating environment where children have lots of fun combined with a strong element of free choice. Emma takes a hands-on approach to running the Riverside Day Nursery and often joins Nursery Manager, Nikita Gomm, on site to oversee and help with the children’s care and activities and talk to parents. If you have any questions Emma and Nikita’s door is always open.

Our Ethos

The Riverside Day Nursery offer babies and children from three months to five-years a loving, nurturing environment in which to thrive and learn whilst gently readying them for their next big adventure, first school.

It’s our aim to carefully bridge the gap between home, nursery and school. We do this in a number of ways, from providing a secure, happy ‘home-from-home’ experience where children feel comfortable and cared for, to encouraging independence by allowing children to flow freely from activity to activity, from indoors to the natural surroundings of outdoors.

We also provide an extensive range of exciting and engaging individual and group play-based activities to help babies and children develop new skills, paving the way for a brilliant start to school life.

Our Nursery Team

The Riverside Day Nursery team is committed to providing a very high standard of childcare and undergo continuous in-house and external training to improve and enhance skills.

Team members hold a broad range of nationally recognised qualifications, including NNEB diplomas and NVQ level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education. As well as undergoing enhanced DBS checks, all members of staff are trained in paediatric first-aid and safeguarding children. Senior team members are also qualified in Advanced Safeguarding.

As well as trained to a high level, individual staff belong to The Riverside Day Nursery Team because they demonstrate warmth and a natural talent for caring for young children.

The Riverside Day Nursery team also maintain an excellent staff to baby and child ratio. This ensures every baby and child receives a high amount of loving care and attention and is closely looked after as they move about our nursery space.
