We mark Remembrance Day every year at the Riverside Day Nursery, taking time to remember the armed forces and civilians who lost their lives in the First World War.
In their honour the children painted a sea of stunning red poppies which were displayed around the nursery.
Our team had to literally ‘get lost’ on their team building event in October!
Deposited on the outer streets of Windsor with just a handful of basic supplies, our intrepid staff had to use their navigation skills to locate map coordinates around the town.
The rules were simple. At each coordinate was a clue. The quickest team to unravel all the clues could claim first prize – £100 vouchers and a bottle of champagne.
Top co-ordinate crunchers Kelly, Elle, Ellie, Ruby, Danielle and Nikita were the first to finish. Well done team!
The last clue was sneakily placed at the Alma where everyone tucked into well-deserved dinner and drinks.

We hope this message finds you well and full of Christmas spirit!
It’s been a busy autumn term with the children engaging in activities, both indoors and out. But with the first frosts appearing and twinkling lights everywhere, our focus has been celebrating that extra special time of year, Christmas. As you can imagine, the children are fizzing with excitement as we countdown the days until the festive holiday.
The nursery had its twinkly transformation at the beginning of December with each of the rooms and garden receiving a generous sprinkling of ‘elf dust’. (Thank you, Team Riverside!)
It was lovely seeing the children’s expressions on the first of December when we opened our doors. The abundance of Christmas trees, fairy lights – not to mention the magical new Father Christmas grotto – put a smile on everyone’s faces.
Christmas Carol Concerts
Our Carol Concerts had one of the biggest turnouts ever. Thank you for coming along. We’re sure you’ll agree that the children said their lines and sang their songs beautifully. Handing out tissues might have to become standard practice as there were so many happy tears! Well done children, you were simply amazing.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to seeing you in January. Just as a reminder, the nursery will close at 6pm on Friday 22nd December and re-open on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 at 8am.
Best wishes,
The Riverside Nursery Team

Christmas is definitely Christmassing at the Riverside Day Nursery!
Staff and residents at Mountbatten Grange Care Home in Windsor hosted a fantastic Easter visit for the children. This was the third visit to the care home for our school children and they enjoyed every minute.
As well as chatting, reading stories and singing their favourite nursery rhymes with the residents, the children could pet and play with some real Easter bunnies.
The finale was an Easter egg hunt in and around the home and grounds. Everyone – children and retired folk – quickly got to work on the clues to find the chocolate eggs.

A huge thank you to the Mountbatten Grange team for hosting such a brilliant day. We look forward to seeing you soon.
