Spring-ing Ahead!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Wow, such a lot has happened in the past month or so! We hope you all had a wonderful, fun-filled Easter and, before that, a memorable Mother’s Day surrounded by your family and loved ones. The children delighted in spoiling their mummies at our special Mother’s Day event (see images below). It was fantastic to see so many mummies there – and two daddies who made excellent mummy ‘stand-ins’! – celebrating with the children, and of course enjoying the delicious scones and strawberry jam. We’ve received lots of positive feedback about this event, so much so, that it’s likely to become an annual fixture in the Riverside calendar.

Last month was a busy time at the nursery, starting with World Book Day on the first of March when an array of colourful fictional characters turned up to nursery for the day. It’s very clear that the children have a genuine love for stories and books which we will certainly continue to nurture throughout the year. The Easter Bonnet Parade also set us in a fine mood for the Easter holiday with the Easter Bunny, chicks and chocolate eggs galore. Photos will feature in next month’s e-newsletter.

Best wishes,

The Riverside Day Nursery Team

World Book Day Thursday 1st March – If your child is attending nursery on this day, we’ll be celebrating the magic of books and reading. Children are invited to dress up as their favourite book character and can bring in a special book or poem to share with their friends.

Easter Bonnet Parade – Thursday 29th March 2.30pm – Please don’t forget you’re invited to join your child at our first ever Easter Bonnet Parade! We’d really like the children to create their own Easter Bonnet at home to wear at this event. This is a wonderful family activity and a chance to get sticky and creative (although we ask that the children do as much of the designing and making themselves please!). There will be a prize for the best bonnet on display.

The afternoon promises to be lots of fun as The Easter Bunny himself will be joining the children on their Easter egg hunt, followed by a yummy picnic tea and refreshments at 4pm for parents. A wonderful way to start your Easter egg eating, we mean, Easter break!.

Charity Cake Sale – 24th, 25th & 26th April – We’ll be selling cakes on these dates in aid of the nursery’s chosen charity Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Any donations of homemade cakes and biscuits for this event will be very welcome, thank you.
