Kristy staying until August

As you’re aware Kristy was due to leave us in June. Kristy has decided to remain with us until the end of August when she will leave to start her childminding business. Kristy’s last day will be 25th August.

Employees of the Month – It’s a triple celebration!

We usually celebrate one employee’s achievements, this time we’re shining the spotlight on three superstar staff!

The first winner is Amber Harling. Amber recently moved from the baby and toddler room to take up the role of art co-ordinator in our pre-school room.

[pb_blockquote]Amber has not only excelled at creating and doing art topics with the children but she’s built up fantastic relationships with them and really compliments the preschool team,” [/pb_blockquote] said nursery founder, Emma Summersgill.

The other two team members are Holly and Cheree who were on top form during the Ofsted inspection earlier this month.

Emma said: [pb_blockquote]“Holly and Cheree talked fluently about each child’s development and answered lots of questions on topics relating to our policies and procedures. Given that the line of questioning is random, they really impressed Ofsted with their level of knowledge.”[/pb_blockquote]

Holly, Cheree and Amber each receive £50 for their sterling work.

The Riverside Day Nursery, Windsor receives ‘good’ rating from Ofsted!

Big news! We’re delighted that we’ve been awarded a ‘Good’ rating following our first full inspection from Ofsted.

As you’re probably aware, Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills who carry out inspections to ensure childcare providers meet requirements for safety, learning and development. To help inspectors gain an accurate view of a provider, inspections are usually carried out at very short notice.

Emma Summersgill, nursery founder, said: [pb_blockquote]“We’re absolutely thrilled with our ‘good’ rating and I’m very proud of Emma and the team for their commitment and hard work. As anyone who works in childcare and education knows, Ofsted inspections can be nerve wracking but especially for Emma as it was her first inspection as manager of the nursery.

“We believe in providing a happy, home-from-home environment where children can explore the world and gain confidence. Emma and the team are really motivated and love looking after the children so it’s great to have this official recognition by Ofsted.”[/pb_blockquote]

Highlights from the nursery’s Ofsted report:

• Staff provide stimulating environments and enjoyable learning experiences both indoors and outdoors.

• Children are confident and motivated to learn. They behave well and are happy and settled.

• Children are confident and independent. They build positive relationships with staff and relate to each other.

• Staff make good use of the outdoor play environment to help promote children’s physical development.

You can view the full inspection report on the Ofsted website: www.reports.ofsted.gov.uk – our URN is EY485275. Alternatively, there is a copy on display in the nursery lobby.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of our Ofsted report please let Emma know.
