2020 Nursery Fees Increase

Following on from an earlier letter we sent to parents, here’s a gentle reminder that our nursery fees will be increasing slightly from 1st January.

As an ‘Outstanding’ rated nursery, we are committed to delivering the highest quality child and baby care. Having kept our fees as low as possible for the past two years, we’ve reached the unavoidable point where we need to roll out a new pricing scheme. This is to ensure your child continues to receive the highest standard of childcare from the best practitioners and so we can continually enhance our nursery environment and equipment, providing children with the best setting and opportunities to learn.

Alongside our current sibling discount, we will also be introducing a new discount for children placed with us full-time.

The new fees start on 1st January and are as follows:

Day rate 8am – 6pm £72.00

Half day rate 8am – 1pm/1pm – 6pm £40.00

This includes provision of all nappies, wipes, meals, drinks and snacks.

Sibling discount – 10%

New full-time discount – 10%

Hourly rate – £7.00

Pre-bookable early/late starts/finishes £5.00 per session (ongoing bookings will receive a discount)

Results from a survey we carried out earlier in the year showed us that you preferred consistent invoice pricing. To help, from the start of the New Year, invoices will be calculated by multiplying your daily charge over the year and dividing it by 12 months.

As an example:

3 full days x 51 weeks of the year divided by 12 months = your monthly costs

If you decide to take any extra hours or days childcare in a month, these will appear on your invoice for the following month.

Invoicing via our Family app

From January invoices will be issued by our new Family app – rather than delivered by email – and will be calculated using your daily charge multiplied over the year and divided by 12 months, helping keep your costs consistent from month to month.

Your invoice will be available to view in the Family app during the last week of each month for the month ahead. The first invoice for January will appear towards the end of December. As ever, we do ask that payment is received by the 15th of each month.

Future improvements

The fee change will help us to improve our setting and deliver the best possible experience for the children. Some of the key areas we will be focussing on include:

  • Developing a ‘Green’ nursery
  • Enhanced staff training and team building
  • Maintaining existing and hiring talented team members
  • Creating well-being programmes for children and staff
  • Improving and introducing new and exciting learning areas and play equipment

We hope the above makes sense and sets out our reasons for the fee changes.

If you have any questions, please do come and talk to either Nikita, our Nursery Manager, or Emma Summersgill, our Nursery owner.

Employees of the months!

It is a bumper celebration with three employee awards to announce this month.

First up is Demi, our star employee for September. Demi, who recently started in our Baby Room, set off to a flying start by completing four courses of her online training in record time. Well done Demi!

Our all-star August employee is Jasmine. Jasmine helps take care of our toddlers and comes up with no end of great activities for the children. Rumour has it that Jasmine also possesses ‘legendary’ play dough skills. Congratulations Jasmine!

Congratulations Jasmine!

Our employee award for July goes to Alice. July is always a super busy time at the nursery and Alice made sure everything in the Toddler Room ran seamlessly while Team Leader, Amie, was on annual leave. Thank you for all your support Alice.

Demi, Jasmine and Alice each receive £50 to treat themselves to something special.

Nursery Team Update

New Team Members

Welcome to Demi. Demi joined us at the beginning of the summer and works with our younger babies. Demi has an NVQ level two qualification in childcare and is an experienced nursery worker.

Welcome to Demi

We would also like to welcome Callan, an NVQ level three qualified childcare practitioner. Callan originally carried out her work experience with us, so it is lovely to have her join as fully-fledged team member. Callan is currently helping in the Toddler Room.

Welcome back to Callan

We are also pleased to welcome Ava on board, our new nursery apprentice. Ava joined us in September and is currently gaining hands-on experience looking after our busy toddlers.

If you pop into the office, you may also see Lucy. Lucy is assisting us with administrative duties, as well as supporting the Team Leaders in their day-to-day activities. Lucy will be with us until December, after which she is going travelling.

Mel is promoted to Deputy Manager

Mel is our new Deputy Manager

Congratulations to Mel, who has been promoted to Deputy Manager at the Riverside Day Nursery. As well as carrying out new duties as Deputy, Mel will continue in her role as Pre-School Room Team Leader. Mel has been with the team over a year and has adapted to her new role as Deputy Manager really well.

Employee of the month

Congratulations to Sophie!

Sophie helps in our Baby room and although she’s only been with us a short while, she’s working really hard and is a big hit with the babies and nursery team alike.

Congratulations Sophie!

To say thank you, Sophie will receive £50 to spend on something nice.
