Keeping Ill Children Away from Nursery

It’s that joyous time of year when coughs, colds and stomach bugs are on the rise.

If your child has any of the following symptoms, such as a fever (a temperature over 38C), signs of a cold or flu, such as a cough, sneezing or runny nose, or diarrhea or vomiting, they should not come into nursery.

Please wait at least 24 hours until symptoms have passed, and their temperature has returned to normal before sending them in.

This will help prevent illnesses spreading to other children, parents, and staff. No one wants to be poorly at Christmas, please think before sending your child in. Thank you.

If your child is unwell or you’re unsure whether they should come in, please get in touch here: info@theriversidedaynursery.co.uk or call 01753 855543.

Cold Weather Clothes

Baby, it’s cold outside!

As the weather dips into freezing temperatures, please make sure your child has everything they need to stay snuggly and dry at nursery, including:

  • Suitable outdoor footwear, such as, waterproof shoes, trainers or wellies
  • Waterproof coat or raincoat
  • Waterproof all-in-one for babies
  • Hats and gloves for when the weather is especially cold

Please make sure everything – including smaller items like hats and gloves – are clearly labelled.

Fee Payment Reminder

Please be reminded that nursery fees are due on 15th of each month. If your child is absent for any reason due to illness or holidays, sessions are still payable.

If you have any concerns regarding payment, please contact Nikita, our Nursery Manager, as soon as possible in advance of payment.

Change of Clothes

We’re making the most of the sunny weather with lots of bubbles and water play. This means our clothes sometimes get a little soggy. Please remember to pack a change of dry clothes for your little one to change into at nursery.

Labelling Sun Hats and Clothing

Now the sun has got his hat on (hip, hip hooray!) it’s time to make sure your child has theirs on too. Please label your child’s sun hat clearly with their name. You’re welcome to leave sun hats at the nursery. Please make sure all items of clothing – hats, tops, shorts, skirts, trousers, and shoes – are labelled with your child’s name.

Mobile Phone Policy

To ensure the safety and well-being of the children, please can we remind parents not to take photos in the nursery rooms. Only our professional photographers and staff members are allowed to take images of the children in the nursery setting using permitted devices.

For further information about our mobile phone policy, please contact the Nursery Manager, Nikita.

Please Don’t Bring Food into Nursery

We have children at nursery that have food allergies, including allergies to peanuts, oats, and dairy products. Although a reaction can be mild, a child (or anyone) with a food allergy is at risk of having a serious, life-threatening anaphylaxis reaction.
To keep everyone safe, please do not allow your child to bring extra food, even small snacks, to nursery.

Fee Payment Reminder

Please be reminded that nursery fees are due on 15th of each month. If your child is absent for any reason due to illness or holidays, sessions are still payable. If you have any issues regarding payment, please contact Nikita, our Nursery Manager, as soon as possible in advance of payment.
