Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!

Dear Parents,

We hope you and your families are well? It is a very strange time currently and nothing like we have experienced before. It is hard to imagine what life will be like post lockdown but I am sure, as we are, you’re looking forward to resuming everyday activities, including adventuring outside (not just daily exercise!) and visiting places again.

While we await news of when we can re-open, we wanted to let you know a little bit about what we have been up to and what will happen once we re-open.

Settling your child back into nursery

Once our doors are open, we hope to resume normal opening hours and a full agenda of children’s activities straight away. We are mindful however, that the children will have been away for a few weeks and that it may take a little while for them to settle back into nursery life.

To support this, just as when they first joined us, we will spend time helping your little one getting to know their dedicated key person, the other children, and the nursery setting.

If your child’s routine has changed, for example, if they have begun potty training or trying solid food, do let us know and we will ensure these are added into your child’s daily routine.

We also know that after spending lots of one-on-one time at home that they are likely to miss you immensely but please rest assured, we have years of expertise of putting babies and young children at ease – not to mention lots of fun games, toys and cuddles up our sleeves – to help your little one re-adjust and enjoy their time. We will keep you updated on how they are doing via the nursery app too.

Change of circumstances

If you have changed address or telephone number during the past few weeks, please let us know so we have your latest contact details.

We also understand that you, or your partner’s work situation may have been impacted due to the coronavirus crisis. If you have any concerns or questions about childcare arrangements or nursery fees, please do get in touch with our nursery manager, Nikita Russell, as soon as possible to see how we can help.

Staff Upskilling – Gold Stars all round!

During the lockdown period the team is spending time honing their nursery practitioner skills. Team members are taking relevant online professional training courses, helping build their knowledge, while staff working towards childcare NVQs are making substantial headway. Some top training stars are emerging, including Mary, Callan, Jas, Belle and Mary. Well done girls, sparkly gold stars all round!

The team are regularly in touch with each other and, once we ironed out a few technical glitches, we’ve had some productive Zoom calls with everyone on board. As well as discussing what we’ve been up to, we’ve been planning first exciting activities for the children. Needless to say, prior to opening, the nursery setting will be given a rigorous deep clean, ensuring everywhere is safe and spotlessly clean for the children.

All this preparation means we’re ready and raring to go and can’t wait to be back providing first class childcare for the children – we just hope we won’t have to wait too much longer!

If you have any questions or if there is anything you’d like to let us know, please do get in touch here: info@theriversidedaynursery.co.uk

We look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

Best wishes,

The Riverside Day Nursery Team

Important Parent Reminders

Wet Weather Clothes

With all the persistent rain at the moment please ensure that the children have everything they need to stay warm and dry when they come to nursery.

Wellies are especially important this time of year to ensure that we can get the children out and about whatever the weather. We also recommend a pair of thick socks to keep little toes warm in the colder temperatures. Please ensure that all clothing and footwear is correctly labelled.

Fee Payment Reminder

Please be reminded that fees are due on 15th of each month. If your child is absent for any reason due to illness or holidays, sessions are still payable.

If you have any issues regarding payment, please contact Nikita, our Nursery Manager, as soon as possible in advance of payment.
