New Team Members

Welcome to Demi. Demi joined us at the beginning of the summer and works with our younger babies. Demi has an NVQ level two qualification in childcare and is an experienced nursery worker.

We would also like to welcome Callan, an NVQ level three qualified childcare practitioner. Callan originally carried out her work experience with us, so it is lovely to have her join as fully-fledged team member. Callan is currently helping in the Toddler Room.

We are also pleased to welcome Ava on board, our new nursery apprentice. Ava joined us in September and is currently gaining hands-on experience looking after our busy toddlers.

If you pop into the office, you may also see Lucy. Lucy is assisting us with administrative duties, as well as supporting the Team Leaders in their day-to-day activities. Lucy will be with us until December, after which she is going travelling.

Mel is promoted to Deputy Manager

Mel is our new Deputy Manager

Congratulations to Mel, who has been promoted to Deputy Manager at the Riverside Day Nursery. As well as carrying out new duties as Deputy, Mel will continue in her role as Pre-School Room Team Leader. Mel has been with the team over a year and has adapted to her new role as Deputy Manager really well.

New Starters in the Nursery Team

Welcome to Sophie, who joins us an apprentice to help with our babies in the Baby room. Sophie is keen to gain experience and pursue a career in childcare. Also a warm hello to Gillian, who has worked previously in a school for 14 years, she has joined us full time to work with our older babies.

Last but not least, Mary will be coming back from maternity leave in mid-June, returning as Baby Room Team Leader.

Mary will rejoin the team in June.

Exam Passes

Well done to Amie, Jasmin, Kelly and Jemma for completing their level 3 NVQs in childcare. Congratulations on all your hard work!

In other exam news, we were delighted to receive five stars from the Environmental Health Agency for the cleanliness of our kitchen and overall food hygiene standards. Along with our Outstanding Ofsted rating this year we are flying high ensuring the children receive the very best care!

 

Nursery Team Update

Welcome to the team!

This month sees some fabulous additions to our outstanding team.

Cheree is the new room leader in ‘Older Babies’ along with Belle, a qualified nursery practitioner, who will also be working in the Baby Room.

Lauren, our new Level 4 qualified nursery practitioner, will be supporting and looking after the younger babies.

Belle is working in our new Baby Room.

Cheree has also started in the Baby Room.

New Team Members Sarah and Tia

A huge hello and welcome to Sarah Bonnett, who recently joined us and has provided amazing holiday relief support at the nursery. You will often see her helping with different activities in all of our rooms. Sarah has a background in childcare, she has been working in the industry for four years now and has a daughter Ella, who is one.

Shortly to join the team is Tia. She is a level 2 qualified nursery practitioner, recently qualified she will be working with our children under two years old. We look forward to her arrival and hope you will pop in and say hello to her once she is on board.

‘Employee of the Month’ is Sam Wilcox!

This month our award for the Employee of the Month goes to the fantastic Sam!

Emma Summersgill, owner of the Riverside Day Nursery, said “Sam receives this award not only for all her hard work every day but also for overseeing the nursery seamlessly whilst Nikita was on a well earned holiday recently. We really appreciate all of our highly dedicated team and it amazes me how effectively they support each other and step up to take on added responsibilities at every opportunity. Thank you Sam.”

Sam will receive £50 to treat herself to something special.

Nursery Team Update

Welcome to Abbie, our new nursery apprentice. Abbie recently graduated from school and is keen to gain experience working within a busy nursery setting. She comes from a large family with many siblings, so playing and interacting with children is second nature. Abbie is currently based in our Baby Room, please feel free to pop by and say hello to her when you are next in.

Lily has also joined the Riverside Day Nursery team. Lily is a newly qualified Level 2 Childcare Practitioner and is busy putting her skills into practice in our Toddler Room.

Finally, a few other internal changes to be aware of, Zenab is currently overseeing our babies in the Baby room while we are recruiting a new room leader. In the meantime, Amie has stepped up as acting Toddler room leader in place of Zenab.
