Welcome Back and Happy New Year!

We hope you’ve all had an enjoyable start to 2018. It was lovely to hear the children’s stories of festive family fun when they came back, although Christmas puddings and fairy lights seem a distant memory now.

With the new term well underway, it’s been magical watching the new children at nursery find their feet and form special friendships. The nursery team have spent time putting fantastic plans in place for the children this year, which promises to be one of our most exciting yet!

Thank you to the many parents who attended our open evening recently, it’s a terrific opportunity to share your children’s key developments with you and listen to your input and feedback. Looking ahead, we’ve decided to make this a quarterly event and will ensure we provide plenty of notice on the proposed dates.

We also look forward to seeing you at the nursery’s first ever Easter Bonnet Parade on Thursday 29th March. It should be eggs-cellent fun, see more details below!

Best wishes,

The Riverside Day Nursery Team

Welcome from Emma Summersgill

Hello and Welcome Back!

Dear Parents and Carers,

This is a swift update to say ‘hello’, especially to new parents whose children have joined us recently. We also have some important festive dates for your diaries.

Although it seems a distant memory, I hope you all had a good summer. The nursery was a hive of activity and it was lovely to see the children playing busily inside and outside in the nursery garden. We also said goodbye to our oldest pre-schoolers, always a sad occasion, and hope that they’re settling in and enjoying the first term at school.

In September we welcomed our Maternity Cover Manager, Nikita Gomm. You’ll see Nikita in and around the nursery most days and there’s more information about Nikita’s role below.

We’ve had lots of positive feedback from parents about our newsletter – which also appears on our website. Hopefully this is the first of many that will come your way. The next issue will be circulated in December and will include even more news and photos from our learning adventures, so please keep a look out.

In the meantime, I hope you’re enjoying a fruitful autumn and look forward to seeing you at our Christmas events in December.

Best wishes,

Emma

Welcome Back and a Belated Happy 2017!

It probably feels like a distant tinsel-coloured blur now but we hope you had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.

I know the children (and even we were) disappointed by the distinct lack of snow but with little let-up in the freezing temperatures there’s still time. Incidentally, if it does snow and the nursery is unable to open, we will let you know asap via our website.

We had some splendidly festive celebrations in December, including the children’s Christmas Concert – weren’t they brilliant? – and Christmas lunch and party afternoon.

The children are enjoying being back. Our littlest ones are learning all about The Gruffalo, while our pre-schoolers are discovering The Orient.

We hope you’ve had a good start to the year and look forward to catching up with you soon.

Best wishes,

The Riverside Nursery Team 🙂
