Going Wild in the Nursery Garden!
As the days are getting a little brighter, our new gardening group will start at the beginning of February.
Under the guidance of green-fingered helper, Warren, the gardening group will take place on a Monday and involve small groups of children from all rooms. As the weather improves (fingers crossed!) this will hopefully spread to more days in the nursery garden throughout the week.
The children will be able to do lots of activities, starting with tidying up old plants, sowing seeds in propagator trays and planting climbing plants and shrubs.
[pb_blockquote]As well as getting hands on with planting, Warren will talk to the children about the wildlife and help them to identify various local birds, creatures and creepy crawlies – given our waterside location we are spoilt for things to see![/pb_blockquote]
We also have lots of other exciting projects planned for the nursery garden, including, creating a mini pond, den making and planting vegetables.
Warren will shortly undertake his RBWM Forest School training, so no doubt will come back brimming with plenty more imaginative outdoor play ideas for the children to enjoy too.
We’ll keep you posted on our garden projects as they happen – check back here for latest news.
