Getting Colourful for Holi

On Monday 29th March, the children celebrated the ancient Hindu festival of Holi.

Also known as the ‘Festival of Love’, the ‘Festival of Spring’ and the ‘Festival of Colours’, Holi marks the eternal love of Radha – a Hindu Goddess – and the major Hindu God, Krishna.

The children watched short films about Holi and we talked about what the festival meant. Holi is also about welcoming in Spring and celebrating the new energy of the season.

To mark Holi people often throw coloured powders at each other in a fun way, so that is exactly what we did! The children had fun being bathed in clouds of colour. We think they look great!
