Merry May!

Dear Parents,

We hope you all had a good May? With two bank holidays, a royal wedding and some glorious sunshine, there was certainly plenty to celebrate. The children are full of energy at the moment and, with the weather improving, they’re enjoying taking every opportunity they can to go outside and play with their friends. Our Odds Farm Park Trip was a fantastic success (see below) and we hope to organise more outings in the future to help bring the children’s learning to life and make even more happy memories of their time at nursery.

Given how time flies, we’re delighted to say our new School Readiness programme launched on 4th June. The six-week programme is for our pre-schoolers who will be starting school in September. The educational content is based on detailed research we carried out with a group of local Foundation stage teachers to gain deeper understanding of the skills and behaviours children need to have when they start school. The programme aims to help the children prepare for their transition to primary school and a ‘need to know’ information guide to support parents will be sent out to you shortly. In the meantime, if you have any questions please do get in touch.

Best wishes,

The Riverside Day Nursery Team

April Antics!

Dear Parents,

Apart from the April showers, it’s been glorious to see the sun finally bursting into action! We hope the Easter break provided you all with some well-deserved rest and relaxation, the children were certainly brimming with egg-citing tales when they came back! It is hard to believe we are a third of the way through this year already. April proved to be another busy month at the Riverside Day Nursery. Parents’ Evening was very well attended, and it was lovely to see so many parents there. It’s always a pleasure to share the children’s key developments and special moments with you. In turn, the feedback we received about the nursery made us feel extremely proud. We are hugely appreciative of the team and the effort they make to ensure the children flourish and have fun every day.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful May, and that you get to spend some time enjoying the longer lighter evenings with your little one(s).

Best wishes,

The Riverside Day Nursery Team

Spring-ing Ahead!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Wow, such a lot has happened in the past month or so! We hope you all had a wonderful, fun-filled Easter and, before that, a memorable Mother’s Day surrounded by your family and loved ones. The children delighted in spoiling their mummies at our special Mother’s Day event (see images below). It was fantastic to see so many mummies there – and two daddies who made excellent mummy ‘stand-ins’! – celebrating with the children, and of course enjoying the delicious scones and strawberry jam. We’ve received lots of positive feedback about this event, so much so, that it’s likely to become an annual fixture in the Riverside calendar.

Last month was a busy time at the nursery, starting with World Book Day on the first of March when an array of colourful fictional characters turned up to nursery for the day. It’s very clear that the children have a genuine love for stories and books which we will certainly continue to nurture throughout the year. The Easter Bonnet Parade also set us in a fine mood for the Easter holiday with the Easter Bunny, chicks and chocolate eggs galore. Photos will feature in next month’s e-newsletter.

Best wishes,

The Riverside Day Nursery Team
