All About Multi-Sports with Coach Abid
We are excited to share details about the children’s sports sessions with Coach Abid at the nursery.
Coach Abid joins us every Thursday afternoon to host a series of lively sports sessions. The sessions are part of a specially designed programme and incorporate a range of sports, including Basketball, Rugby, Football and Athletics skills.
The course is a great platform for both school-readiness and future sports involvement for the children. At the same time, they help build and develop their self-confidence, coordination skills and team ethos, whilst also helping them learn about the value of a healthy lifestyle.
Studies show that children find these types of activities great fun and that they ensure a good level of dynamic physical activity is included in the children’s weekly programme.
If you would like your child to take part in Coach Abid’s sessions, please speak to Nikita, our Nursery Manager for more information.

Some important upcoming dates for your diary:
Thursday 14th February – Valentine’s Day Breakfast: Parents you are most welcome to join your little ones for a Valentine’s breakfast at the nursery, there will be lots of goodies to share!
Tuesday 5th March – Pancake Day: As a special treat our children will have delicious pancakes for their nursery tea. Who knows, if we are feeling brave, we might even flip a few!
Tuesday 19th March – Parents’ Evening: There will be more information to follow shortly regarding timings for this event, we hope you can attend.

New Team Members Sarah and Tia
A huge hello and welcome to Sarah Bonnett, who recently joined us and has provided amazing holiday relief support at the nursery. You will often see her helping with different activities in all of our rooms. Sarah has a background in childcare, she has been working in the industry for four years now and has a daughter Ella, who is one.
Welcome Sarah!
Shortly to join the team is Tia. She is a level 2 qualified nursery practitioner, recently qualified she will be working with our children under two years old. We look forward to her arrival and hope you will pop in and say hello to her once she is on board.
‘Employee of the Month’ is Sam Wilcox!
This month our award for the Employee of the Month goes to the fantastic Sam!
Emma Summersgill, owner of the Riverside Day Nursery, said “Sam receives this award not only for all her hard work every day but also for overseeing the nursery seamlessly whilst Nikita was on a well earned holiday recently. We really appreciate all of our highly dedicated team and it amazes me how effectively they support each other and step up to take on added responsibilities at every opportunity. Thank you Sam.”
Sam will receive £50 to treat herself to something special.

Some important upcoming dates for your diary:
Children’s Christmas Lunch and Christmas Party – Wednesday 19th December 2018 – This is for our children only, sorry! There will be lots of fun activities, food and of course party games for our little ones to enjoy. The children can of course dress up in party clothes should they wish to!
Nursery Christmas Closing – The nursery will close for the Christmas period on Christmas Eve, Monday 24th December at 1pm and re-open at the normal time on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
Christmas Reminder – Please let us know when your child’s/children’s last day in nursery will be, as we have a special Christmas goodie bag for you that they have made personally. You won’t want to miss their amazing handmade gifts!
