Enter the Dragon!

We’ve been learning all about the countries that make up the Orient, including India, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.  We also celebrated the Chinese New Year.

As part of the festivities, the children made a magnificent Chinese dragon and performed their very own traditional Dragon dance! They also spent time creating their own Rangoli artwork – an Indian art form where materials such as, coloured sand, rice and petals are used to make beautiful intricate patterns on the ground.

We also talked about the countries various culture and customs. The children finished exploring the Orient by making a giant Buddha sculpture.

Next stop on exciting world tour is Europe!
