Babies and Toddlers enjoy a taste of The Gingerbread Man

Babies and toddlers learn all about the classic folk tale, The Gingerbread Man.

The youngest members of the Riverside nursery are ‘currently’ (sorry!) having fun learning about the story The Gingerbread Man.

Designed to entertain and stimulate little ones’ imaginations; we’re doing activities such as reading the story every day – using visual aids of each of the characters and lots of us pretending to be the gingerbread man. We’ve also baked some delicious gingerbread.

Home corner, a popular place for the babies and toddlers to play, has been turned into the little old lady’s kitchen. The children have also created a fantastic background featuring fields through which the gingerbread man runs away.

The toddlers have also been busy making gingerbread puppets using split pins so that their legs move. Whilst the babies have been having lots of gooey fun with gingerbread men sticking. All our gingerbread man creations are displayed on the artboard for everyone to see – take a look next time you’re in.

[pb_blockquote]Alongside gingerbread fun, there’s plenty of sensory play for the babies and toddlers to ‘smoosh and squish’. As well as sand and water which is out every day, we’ve been playing with pasta shapes. [/pb_blockquote]

We’re also really enjoying building and playing in dens at the moment, so much so that, we had story time in there.

You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!
