Merry Christmas from the Riverside Day Nursery
Dear Parents,
We hope you are well and feeling Christmas ready? Over the last few weeks, we have been busy preparing for Christmas and all the magic it entails.
As well as decorating the nursery Christmas tree and hanging decorations, the children’s play areas have been transformed into winter wonderlands. The Pre-school room is decorated in the theme of The Polar Express – a story of a young boy who embarks upon a magical adventure to the North Pole. There is even a train carriage for the children to ride in! The Toddler room also received a festive makeover with a variety of Christmas sensory play stations and a wintry Gruffalo cave to play in.
As you can imagine the children are full of excitement and we have devised lots of Christmas activities for them to enjoy. Alongside singing Christmas carols, the children have been crafting wonderful Christmas creations to share with you. You will receive your child’s goody bag on their last day before we close at 3pm on 23rd December.
Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper Day
A high point of our Christmas countdown was the children’s Christmas lunch and Christmas Jumper Day on 15th December. After tucking into a delicious turkey dinner, the children played traditional party games like musical statues, pass the parcel and sleeping lions – let’s just say there were quite a few wriggly, giggly lions!

Finally, thank you for all your amazing support this year. 2020 has certainly come with its challenges and we are grateful for your help – from maintaining social distancing to giving us cheery ‘hellos’ – it all makes a difference, thank you.
