Newsletter Welcome

Dear Parents,

We hope that this newsletter finds you well and that you are enjoying the warm-ish weather. The children are certainly making the most of the sunny days by playing in our fantastic nursery garden.

We are thrilled with the new garden space and the children are thoroughly enjoying exploring and playing on the new equipment. Items that are proving particularly popular are the climb through tunnel and interactive water wall, literally the splish, splashing never stops!

As well as abundant play activities, our new garden is much larger than our old garden area, which means more of the children can play outside at the same time. It is lovely to see the different age groups interacting and older children playing with the younger ones.  

The new garden Gazebo is the final piece of our garden puzzle to be completed. This will be built in October and will provide a wonderful additional indoor-outdoor space for the children.

In other news, it is the time of year when we sadly have to say goodbye to our children moving up to primary school in September.

Our pre-schoolers are a very special, kind and thoughtful group of children who have worked so hard over the last few months preparing for their next educational adventure. We are going to miss them and look forward to celebrating their achievements at our nursery graduation ceremony on 6^th August 4 to 5.30pm. It is always a bitter-sweet occasion (don’t forget your hankies!) but it is a delight to see how much the children have grown since they first joined.

We have really enjoyed our time with them and wish them the very best of luck on the next stage of their school journey.

Dear Parents,

It was wonderful welcoming everyone back following the first lockdown. We were thrilled that the children adapted so well into nursery life. In the last few months, we have also welcomed many new children who are settling in beautifully. It is heartening seeing so many new friendships blossoming.    

Now in a second national lockdown, although still a period of uncertainty, we are grateful that the nursery can stay open and that the children can continue to enjoy their games and activities as usual.  

Thank you for your continued support at drop off and pick up to maintain social distancing, it is very much appreciated.

Our Happy Halloween and Pre-schoolers’ Graduation

There have been some amazing events recently. At the end of October, we had a week-long Halloween celebration where the children dressed up every day in their favourite spooky outfits. In August, we held our 2020 graduation ceremony for pre-schoolers moving up to primary school. It is always a bitter-sweet occasion saying goodbye – especially in a year which has been so unusual – but it was lovely to see our eldest children confident and ready for school life.  

With winter around the corner, we have been making the most of the mild autumn weather by getting out and about. The children have been going on walks to the park to feed the ducks (always a favourite) and see Windsor castle. We have also been spending time in the nursery garden spotting changes in the scenery, from the falling leaves to the appearance of dewy cobwebs.    

Making Christmas Special

As Christmas approaches we know things might be a little different this year. It is a magical time for children, and we want them to enjoy it as much as possible. As well as doing fun Christmas crafts and activities in nursery, we’ve put together some festive things going on in the Windsor area in our top tips to help Christmas feel, well a bit more like Christmas!

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! In fact, Happy New Decade! It seems like a distant memory now but we hope you had an amazing Christmas time surrounded by family and friends. The children have certainly recounted some magical tales and the only thing missing apparently was the snow! 

Thank you again for making our Christmas Concert one of the best and biggest yet. More than 160 of you joined in this memorable celebration, at what is an incredibly busy time of year. The fun continued with a festive Pre-schoolers trip to Norden Farm to see ‘The Bear’ by Raymond Briggs. It was a real hit with the children, and we were exceptionally proud of their behaviour during the visit with lots of passers-by commending the little ones.

We finished the year with a lively Team Awards presentation. Thank you to all our team members who have worked so incredibly hard over the last 12 months. You can read more about our night in this newsletter.

As we embark on a new year of growth and development for the children, all the rooms are buzzing with excitement about what the year holds. It is lovely to see the boys and girls refreshed and full of energy for the packed schedule of activities we have planned for 2020.
